Thousands of visitors stop to pay tribute to McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser and his family members here each year.

Also vist the Buford Pusser Monument and Crash Site in Leapwood, and his office inside the McNairy County Courthouse in Selmer.

Troops under Union Gen. Lew Wallace were stationed here in April 1862 as U.S. Grant’s army moved into southern Tennessee. Wallace moved out from here the first day of the Battle of Shiloh but failed to reach the battlefield in time (an early-war controversy). Wallace did arrive in time to turn the tide against the Confederates on the second day of the battle.

Adamsville Bluegrass Jamboree happens every third Saturday night of each month, except in May when the schedule changes due to the Buford Pusser Festival.
"The Marty" hosts a variety of plays, pageants, school and private events. Check you local newspaper for dates and times.

The Motel was built  in 1960 by Joe and Juanita Richardson, who were like family to Sheriff Buford Pusser.  It was in room 110 that the sheriff lived for over four months in the 1970's when fire damaged his home.  Ms. Juanita still runs the motel and visitors enjoy seeing photos and hearing her stories about the sheriff. Elvis spent the night here, too.

Location of the Buford Pusser Festival that occurs on the week before Memorial Day each year. Play Ground, Tennis Courts, Walking Trail, Softball,Baseball, Pavilion (available for parties, contact City Hall at 632-1401), Picnic areas with barbeques. Buford Pusser Memorial Wall.
